For over five decades, our dedication to preserving Corvette history and pushing the boundaries of custom work has made us one of the most sought-after Corvette specialists in the industry. At Jamison’s Custom Corvette, Inc., we’re not just restoring cars but preserving a legacy. With each project, we aim to capture the spirit of Corvette perfection, ensuring that every vehicle we touch continues to thrill for years.

Kerry Jamison - Owner
A car guy since birth, literally bundled up in the center console of his parents 1956 Corvette from St Francis Hospital (downtown Charleston) as a newborn baby. During his childhood, Kerry would hand wrenches to his dad in the garage and progress to spending his summers at the shop. Kerry’s first solo car project started at age 14 and completed the car at 16 years old. It was a 1968 Corvette that he named The Grand Illusion. He proudly took it to local car shows but when it was time to go to college, he sold it. After attending University of South Carolina, Kerry decided to return to Charleston and work full time alongside his idol / dad John Jamison (the founder of Jamison’s Custom Corvette). Over the years, Kerry has owned 14 Corvettes and is currently restoring a 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette and a 1959 Corvette EV go kart. Every day, Kerry pursues his dream of building resto-mods and living out his dad’s legacy. John Jamison passed away on May 3, 2023, there is a tribute at the National Corvette Museum in his memory dedicated to his life long career. We sure do miss Johnny Hot Rod.
When Kerry has a day off, he relieves stress by playing guitar, listening to live music, attending gearhead events like car auctions, car shows, SEMA, NASCAR races and learning how to survive a gluten free lifestyle. Kerry enjoys attending NCRS (National Corvette Restorer’s Society) events and is currently working towards senior judge status. He is most passionate about spending quality time and traveling with his wife Renee….who else can confidently say they spend 24/7 with their spouse. Yes, Renee wrote this because she is in control of the website too.

Renee Jamison - Office Manager
After leaving the hospitality industry in 2020, Renee is the “fiberglass” holding everything together. Her responsibilities range from customer service, shipping, accounting, social media, team spirit cheerleader while always being counted on for a smile. Being the wife of Corvette royalty, she organically became a car enthusiast and has a trophy/ribbon collection to prove it. Her daily driver is a 1993 Corvette in competition yellow and is known around town as “PacMaam” on her vanity plate. In addition, her show queen named “Midge” is a 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite which she restored during the pandemic. When she can sneak away from the shop, she will be either vintage shopping, travelling, attending car related events or concerts and spending time with Kerry, Paisley the goldendoodle, and their daughters Gaby and Heather.

Paisley Berry Jam PR Director
Paisley is the cutest employee since joining the family business in August 2023. Paisley specializes in taking daily therapy sessions for the team, showroom security patrol, accepting packages and many treats from our local vendors and customers. Her favorite part of the day is sleeping on the job. We are overjoyed to have Paisley on the team! She keeps us all from having a “ruff” day.

Kenny Rohner - Shop Manager
Kenny’s love for cars started when he was 6 years old and his uncle took him for a ride in a 1967 Camaro and he’s been hooked ever since. He rebuilt his first engine when he was 13 years old. He got into performance muscle cars as a teenager and has owned multiple Chevy’s over the years. He worked at Billy’s Automotive while in high school, which specialized in Corvettes, spent several years at dealerships, ended up at a shop in Mt Pleasant, SC in 1989, and worked there until it closed in 2018. During his time there he worked on a lot of classic cars and loved it. He moved to an independent garage for a couple of years until the opportunity arose to join Jamison’s team. Kenny describes it as a “dream come true” and couldn’t be happier. Kenny is a wealth of knowledge and is our go-to guy on almost everything. He keeps us laughing when he recites lines from movies and with his witty sense of humor. Kenny currently owns a 1968 Chevelle Malibu big block, a 2000 Corvette 6 speed FRC and lastly a 1969 Nova project that he co-owns with his daughter and looks forward to completing one day.
In his off time, Kenny loves traveling with his high school sweetheart Sherry, married for 38 years and counting. He attends a lot of car events, drag racing, car shows, and SEMA.

Steve Darnell – Body & Mechanical Technician
Steve was born and raised in North Charleston. He has been a part-time member of the team since 2000, yes that is almost a quarter of a century. He answered an ad in the newspaper and he said that John gave him the position as long as he doesn’t run out the door every time a fire alarm goes off. He is employed full-time at the local fire department in a senior level position. We are fortunate to have Steve as he is so versatile with his body work, paint and mechanical skill set.
When he’s off duty, he enjoys spending time with wife Dawn (married for 31 years) and family and his new role as grandpa. Steve also likes to work on his 2002 Z06 Corvette and his project car 1985 Chevrolet El Camino.

John Folley – Welder/Fabricator
John’s automotive passion began when he was 12 years old and got his first go kart. Before long, he was tearing it apart to make it faster. John attended School of the Arts and is a Citadel graduate. When he got his first play car 1990 RX7, it only escalated. He found a knack for fabrication/metal work and began focusing more on building custom parts (headers, exhaust systems, turbo kits). John started at Jamison’s in 2023 and continues to develop his fabrication skills to include fiberglass/carbon fiber parts production and repairs. Working at Jamison’s has been fun and helped him further expand his skill set and overall knowledge with regard to automotive repairs and performance.
When not welding and fabricating, he enjoys working on his own car Twin Turbo LS 1993 RX7, spending time with his wonderful wife Rachel and spending as much time as possible outdoors hunting and fishing.

Donald Tipton – Mechanical Technician
Donny has been working with us since 2023. Previously, he worked with Kenny Rohner at another automotive shop. Donny got interested in cars while in high school working on his own car and watching shows like Top Gear and Roadkill. Donny’s specialty is mostly engine work, installing bolt on kits or rebuilds, restore/upgrade suspension, steering and fuel systems. He is known to torque everything he touches. Donny grew up on James Island and loves going to the beach and surf. He is part of the pit crew for Combustion Club track days. Otherwise, he likes to hangout at home playing video games, most likely automotive related.

Caleb Sandoval – Paint & Body Technician
Caleb started with us part time in 2015 while he was a high school student. Caleb would skateboard to work until he bought a car. Fast forward 9 years and he has mastered sanding, priming and painting skills. Caleb is certified via Axalta and responsible for the majority of the show quality paint jobs. He gives credit to his mentors Kerry and John Jamison for teaching him everything he knows in this trade. On his days off, Caleb is a football fan and will be watching his Clemson Tigers and Dallas Cowboys, attending comedy shows, and hiking with his dog Roxi.

Alan Morales Garcia – Body Technician
Alan is our newest employee and currently a high school senior graduating in May 2025. He is working with us part time as he completes the automotive collision and repair program through his school. His coworkers describe him as a quick learner and eager to help out. Alan is thrilled to be working with a team of seasoned professionals aka living the dream. Outside of the shop, you can find Alan hanging out with friends and his family or working on his Subaru WRX STI.
